The Soft Landing Express is pulling up...next stop? Accessible sex ed. This week, we are joined by Samara Lillioja, program specialist at the YWCA of Metro St. Louis, where they coordinate the SHADE (Sexual Health and Disability Education) program. They provide sex education for people with disabilities as well as trainings and presentations for organizations working with disabled folx.
This is our longest episode yet, because the conversation around the intersection of disability and sex is so rich. We discuss how all disabled people have a right to their own sexuality, despite our ableist society believing otherwise. And we spend time talking about what that can look like for disabled folx, so grab your ticket and join the ride!
Interested in diving in deeper? Each episode we provide a worksheet or resource for you to add to your toolbox of self-exploration. This week, we have a Pleasure Maps and Menus worksheet for you to enjoy!
