ABOUT ME

I'm Astonish Fann

LMSW, they/she

I am a graduate from Washington University’s Brown School of Social Work; my profession is concentrated on mental health with invested work in sexuality and gender. Over the course of my career, I’ve provided comprehensive sexuality education to people of all ages, completed work in reproductive healthcare, and began providing therapy services to individuals and couples. I’ve also received training in trauma-informed education and suicide prevention.

I’m always eager to expand my knowledge so I can share it with others – creating spaces that promote autonomy, collaboration, and informed care. I believe that clients are the experts in their own lives, and my role is to offer support, reflection, and space for healing. In my therapy work, I lean towards Solution-Focused, Exposure-Oriented, and Psychodynamic modalities.

MY PRACTICE

I’m especially passionate about guiding individuals through self-exploration outside of societal norms. That often includes talking about the impact of oppressive systems and how we can resist them. While these conversations can be difficult, I believe it’s important to remember: you are not broken – society is.

These struggles can affect anyone, but especially those with marginalized identities, including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, and disabled individuals. As someone who is queer and neurodivergent myself, I know how hard it can be to exist in a world that wasn’t built with you in mind. Together, I hope we can co-create an affirming space where you feel safe, seen, and free to be fully yourself.
