  • Do you feel hardened by your past?

  • Are you struggling with naming and feeling emotions?

  • Do you find it difficult to prioritize yourself in life and love?

  • Have you wondered why you don't feel safe in your relationships?

  • Have you wondered how to bring your sexuality to life?

  • Are you curious about accessing the version of you that doesn’t have to carry pain?

While everyone is talking about meditation, self-care, and healing, you aren't quite sure what that looks like for you or where to even start. But the good news is that you don't have to do it alone.

Hey, I'm Melony!

I'm here to help you discover what it means to live a life of confidence, vulnerability, joy, and pleasure. Together, we will create a soft space for you to explore your whole self and curiosities so that you can transform your relationships with your emotions and build healthier relationships with yourself and others.

As a trauma-informed, attachment theory oriented, queer and ethical non-monogamy affirming, and sex-positive therapist, I am committed to embracing all identities while supporting you through your discovery and healing journey. We'll collaborate on creating a holistic and individualized approach that aligns with your style, interests, and strengths. I'll guide you in transforming your relationships with your emotions so you can navigate life’s transitions and challenges, and build healthier relationships with yourself and others.

Sessions with me will incorporate Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) depending on your individual needs and goals. I also provide group and individual sound healing sessions for those looking for a meditative space for rest and relaxation. I'm passionate about group work and community-care and lead group therapy sessions to build community, improve intimacy, explore experiences, and practice new behaviors (see groups below).

More from Melony: Surrender to Thrive

content warning: this post briefly mentions birth trauma

Initially, I was motivated to become a therapist out of my curiosity about human behavior, specifically within my culture. Growing up, I always heard phrases that painted therapy as only for the "weak, unhinged, white people, and financially privileged." Therefore, I was inspired to help shift the perception of therapy and who it is for. I wanted to make therapy "cool,” meaning culturally infused, accessible, creative, and inviting. As I continued my journey to becoming a therapist, I experienced birth trauma while in grad school, which shifted my therapeutic approach and motivation.

In 2018, I was five months pregnant when I went into pre-term labor and lost my son. As you can imagine, this was a difficult time for me emotionally because it was my first pregnancy and child. I couldn't wrap my head around what I had experienced, and it was difficult for me to avoid, dismiss, or hide from my pain as I have with past traumas. The emotional pain was overwhelming. I had to learn to surrender to what I was feeling and it changed how I choose to navigate my emotions and the dualities of life for the better.

Now, my motivation as a therapist is to create a soft and supportive space for my clients to explore their whole selves, and transform their relationships with their emotions so they can thrive in life and love.
