Hey there! I’m Kat and I’m a Licensed Master Social Worker who specializes in offering sex and relationship therapy through a holistic lens. I come to this work with a decade of experience in meditation, herbalism, breathwork, sustainable agriculture, and birthwork. My dedication to studying healing arts is fueled by a desire to better understand the things that humans do to bring us closer to a sense of wholeness. All of these perspectives help to form the backbone of my therapy practice. I am a life-long student and find a lot of joy in learning about the world through reading, documentaries, TikTok, and my community in St. Louis. Finding new ways to access wonder and awe has been instrumental in my own healing journey and nature has been one of my greatest teachers for inviting in a sense of belonging and pleasure.

People often ask me what sex therapy “is” and the truth is it is very different for each client and relationship. Some examples of sex therapy include exploring your needs romantically and sexually, coming into a deeper understanding of your gender identity and expression, or working to improve communication in your intimate relationships. Sex therapy can even be focused on improving the sexual relationship you have with yourself and examining how you digest desire and erotic experiences. I love to assist clients in exploring how their sexuality and gender expression impacts the quality of their lives. I believe that honoring our sexual selves can bring us deeper creativity, fulfillment, and meaning.

There are many ways to do therapy and it is not a “one size fits all” deal. I am committed to helping you access the tools and modalities that make the most sense for your life and goals. I draw from somatic practices, Parts Work, feminist and humanist lenses, and attachment theory to craft an individualized approach. Some constants in my practice include slowing down, getting curious about patterns, learning how to listen to the messages from your body, and uplifting pleasure in the day-to-day.

I am passionate about working with folks who hold sexualities and identities that have been marginalized, those healing from sexual or relational trauma, and clients who are in an active process of identity inquiry and creation. My practice is kink and poly-aware, trauma-informed, pleasure-centered, and affirming for LBGTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities. As a queer, non-binary therapist living in Missouri – I believe that therapy is political and feeling good in our lives is directly connected to liberation work (thanks to adrienne marie brown and her work around Pleasure Activism for this!).

I do not believe you need fixing. You are not broken. But perhaps you need support, witnessing, or for someone to full-heartedly believe in your ability to heal. I strive to create an affirming and tender space where all parts of you are invited to show up as they are. We’ll work at your pace and collaboratively. If you’re curious about working together, please book a free consultation and let’s chat.
