About Rafaella

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in supporting healing after sexual violence, building self-esteem and confidence, and teaching healthy sexuality to individuals, those in relationships, and within supportive group settings. My role as a therapist is to support you throughout self-healing and on the journey towards discovery. Through my person-centered approach, you choose the goals and together we create tasks to accomplish them. During our sessions, I will offer tools and feedback to further your progress and challenge you to go beyond your comfort areas and into the areas where you often discover the relief, growth, and change that you seek.

I take the approach of a collaborative team member while offering education, tools, and space to explore your options to help you discover solutions. I individualize each approach, taking into account that we all navigate our lives at intersections. These approaches include: Cognitive Behavior Therapy (examining and challenging your thoughts to affect your feelings and actions) techniques to uncover how critical your self-talk is to your livelihood; Pleasure-Centered Theory (exploring your right to experience and demand pleasure) as I believe that your life is meant for more than surviving trauma and pain; Narrative Therapy, which allows space between you and your problems in order to develop a new perspective; and Creative Arts Therapy to foster healing through the use of journaling, bibliotherapy, and arts & crafts.
